13 Ram 1500

Looking at purchasing a 2013 Ram 1500 with the hemi. I tow a 5000lb Coachman Apex travel trailer. I know mpg when towing varies. But can anyone give me a rough idea of what they are getting for mpg with a similar set up.

What gear ratio? 8 speed or 6 speed? I towed a 5500lbs Jayfeather with my '13 Ram 1500 5.7 3.92 8 spd and saw 9-11 mpg (20-24l/100km) average depending on wind, etc.

It is a 6 speed. Trying to find the gear ratio. There isn't a build sheet with it.

I just completed a 3500 km round trip with my 2016 Ram 5.7, 8 speed, 3.21 rear towing a 26' weighing about 6000 lbs loaded. Average of trip was 9.7 mpg

I tow a similar size trailer with a 2012 Ram 1500 V8 Hemi, and I can tell you that your mileage will average from 8-12 mpg. while towing. You'll be on the low end if climbing a lot of hills or strong headwinds. You'll see higher average on flat roads with low wind. It is what it is. :(

Thanks I will check and see if there is a sticker. 8 to 12 mpg is better than the 6 to 8 I was getting.

13 Ram 1500

Very surprised at the numbers being reported. I had a 2013 ram 1500 Laramie with 6 speed tranny and 3.55 gears (I think it was). Towing atv trailers with two full size quads to and in the mountains of west va and back I always averaged 11.5, maybe 12....and that was only about 3500lbs and certainly not a box like structure like a camper. With a normal size tt, I would expect 6-8 at best.

With the wind you will get 11.5ish and against the wind 9.5ish.

That will be as close a guess that you will get and is line with everyone else.

We have i 2013 Ram 1500 5.7, 3.55 gears, 6 speed, did not know the 2013 offered the 8 speed yet ? and tow a Grey Wolf 26RL 5700* dry. Tows it great, always in Tow/Haul. 10 to 11 mpg tops when towing ! If you get it, install the Air Ride 1000 air bags, as i did, the best $80 i have spend ! greatly helps reduce the squat 1500 Rams are famous for, also tighten the rear up a lot !!!
