15" trailer tire issues

When I try to figure what my trailers need for tires, I don't take the tongue weight away from what I calculate the possible load is on each axle and tire. If you put the Kumho's on at 2150 lbs each, that gives a 8600 lb. total tire capacity, or 500 lbs/tire extra. Sounds about right to me
Your tires total 7040 lbs. capacity, or approx. 110 lbs./tire extra.
Load range D is quite an improvement.

I agree that the Kumho's are the best bet in 14". When we needed tires, they were out of stock. The only other choice I could find in load range D was be the Kenda Karrier http://www.kendatire.com/en/specialty/trailer/karrier/. They used to make a load range D (65 psi) in size 215, but now they only off it in the 205 width, but it still has a couple of hundred pounds more capacity than the Load Range C 215's.
It was a nice heavy tire, and gave us good service with extra capacity until we traded the trailer in ....
