1st Gen Chevy Colorado?

When the Colorado and Canyon came out, I remember that every review was pretty down on them, and head to head comparisons they always came in at the bottom of the list. I recall that rough ride or some other poor road manners were mentioned a lot.

So how are they to drive? Comfortable/ okay/ miserable? This would be a less than daily driver. More of an errand vehicle with a little RV toad use as well. I posted here rather than the dinghy section because I don't have any questions about that aspect of it.

I'm asking about the first generation only. Not the current ones. Thanks!

I have a 2015 Canyon Crew Cab 4x4 and have about 30K miles on it. Don't tow with it except a 21 ' Bayliner. Does fine with it. The V 6 has 305 HP but lacks the low end torque of a V8. Ride and driving is lots better than the bigger pickups I have had. Canyon inside is really nice. Mileage is ecellent 25-27 on the highway over 20 in town. No issues so far. There is a Colorado/Canyon web site, most owners I have talked to like their trucks.

Thanks Melvo. But yours is not the first generation.

I had a 2005 Colorado that I used for a toad for close to 75,000 miles. Of course I also put an additional 30,000 or so on the clock. My only complaint was that when we loaded it for our runs to Alaska the rear tended to squat lower than I wanted. A cheap set of helper springs fixed that and we had no other issues with it. Of course it didn't tide like a Cadillac, but it was a truck. The only reason I got rid of it was because we needed a bigger pickup.

I have had my 2006 Colorado coming up five years now.

And been towing with it for 3 years.

I really have no complaints with the truck and it has done everything I have asked out of it.

Bought it with 60 thousand kilometres and just getter ready to turn 216 thousand kilometres.
