That's why I went out and bought a diesel truck to tow my 5er. Two trips was all it took to convince myself of the benefit of a diesel truck with a Cummins in it.

I'm towing an 8,000 lb 30 ft TT with my K2500HD XCab Long bed with 6.0 Auto. It has no problem getting moving and handling the trailer, but it is pretty thirsty. Bucking wind I have gotten as little as 7.5 mpg, but usually get about 8.5. My previous trailer was only 22 ft and lower profile. I could get 10 mpg with it.
