Being new to this forum, has anyone had any problems with the subject combination? I am concerned with the Ford installed brake controller in relationship to the Carlisle braking system on the Newmar fifth wheel.

Welcome to iRV2.com "Traveling J's" -- you will probably have more success with your question in the Newmar Forum.

the ford ibc is designed to work with the disc brake setups on the newer rigs
if it doesnt, take it in an dhave the updated software loaded

its an easy fix if it was missed
but some disc brake operating systems may still give all the ibc fits, but again its an easy software fix

As I stated in your other topic, I talked to a gentleman who had an `06 F-450 with the IBC and a Mountain Aire (predecesor to the Torrey Pine) with elec/hydr. brakes. Worked fine for him.

powerboatr,

The Ford factory controller is not manufactured to work with disk brakes. Read the manual on the 2008 Super Dutys or contact Ford. The controller does in fact work. Does it work as it should? No! Yes there are guys towing with it that say it works fine. In my case with a 2008 F-450 and a 2008 unit with Dexter brakes it did not. Yes it worked but not as it should and with the weight of these big 5er's each person should check their own rigs.

i was mistaken, it seems some 08 super duties just arent doing the thing correctly with some disc brake actuators.

however its a serious item to be rectified.
surley it will backfitted for the first and second build new superduties.
I would hate too think it fell on deaf ears

i need to go see the new gm fols and see if the ibc is having the same issue as ford
