Agree, that is a HDT. Not a little MDT and not a tiny Super Duty.

Did you get a chance today to see the 2015 F-550? If so, what did you think?

Hope you have better luck today. I will say the Ford Dealership that I traded my F-450 to sold it in 3 days. I would guess a nice F-550 would sell quickly also.
It would be interesting to check out the frame on the 2015 vs a 2019 as I really do not know much about this frames on the Cab Chassis trucks.

OK, just to touch back. We had a chance to see and drive the 2015 today, what a well taken care of and handsome rig it is. All said and done after verifying numbers I just could not make myself buy it even though I would have loved to. No exhaust brake, no front & rear sensors, not ordered with the max tow PKG ect. just kept nagging at me.
If we needed a truck for maybe a DRV or something even lighter I would have been all over it.
So at this point we made a deposit on the purchase of a 2018 Ram 5500 that is sitting at Classy Chassis right now getting outfitted with a new hauler bed.
Break out the top Roman because we will be cutting corners for the next couple months LOL!! But our search is over.
Thanks for all the comments and ideas.

Congrats on the decision. I think the Ram 5500 is in a different class of truck than the F-550. As I understand it, Ram has the best exhaust brake.
Is the Ram 5500 considered a MDT?

If by that you mean virtually identical except for cab amd motor youre spot on. Its almost as if theyre delivered to dodge and ford where the companies put their cab and motor on a prebuilt frame and driveline. Theyre that close.

I suppose that depends on who you ask Lol! But yes, it's a MDT. And thanks, I think it will be a fine truck for the job.

You will be very happy with your decision. Tom Martin at Classy Chassis is a first class guy and builds one fine truck. We have had our 2018 Ram 5500 for about 8 months pulling our 2018 38 Majestic. I also pull a second trailer with a Polaris RZR and the set up is a joy to drive. Absolutely no drama when towing. We spent two months in Colorado towing at high altitude. Awesome performance and you will love the exhaust brake. Descending 12,000 ft summits without touching your brake peddle will make you smile. You will really enjoy the 5500 for touring as the Kelderman system makes for a very comfortable ride when not towing.

As soon as any warranty is up do something about the emissions stuff. Thats the biggest and most expensive issue ive seen out of the dodges. Well, any of them really. Something like 2k for a dpf.

I thought it might be a MDT as it looks different (bigger) than a Ram 3500 dually.
All manufacturers are doing a great job at building trucks. Even my old 2012 F-450 when towing rode better and actually was very pleasant. When towing only one type of RV would pass me, that is the tag axle diesel pushers. Other than that I was extremely happy about the way my rig rolled down the highway.
In 2011 the Ram Chassis came with a larger 50 gallon fuel tank. My guess is the 2018 Cab Chassis will akso have a large fuel tank.
You will really like your new truck.
