A good way to rate the 150/1500 series trucks is:

GM - sweet
Ford - sweeter
Ram - sweetest

That interior of the Ram is super duper nice.

My 2014 is paid off and has a lifetime warranty..... BUT, the 2019 has an 8spd tranny. I'm really trying to be frugal and just enjoy my truck but I am tempted for sure.

Just finished a 3200 mile trip towing a 9500 lb TT with a 2018 Ram 2500 6.4 with 4.10 gears.
Pros;
Brakes
6.4 Hemi
4.10's

Cons;
MPG
6sp tranny
POS steering.

Having a 32 gal gas tank and getting 8.5-9 mpg was a PITA on long stretches out in nowhere land.
The 6sp is terrible on steep curvy slower grades.
The trucks has always pulled to the left. Had the drag link recall done and they still didn't center the steering wheel when welding the nuts.
I will be buying an after market drag link and taking it to my local alignment shop to fix it.

If and a big if I do swap out this truck it will be for a used diesel.

YouTube channel BigRVBigTruck has a video of a 2019 Ram Limited with full air ride suspension. This truck has a the best hushed and road insulated ride. Very very smooth ride, the best by far.

Now here is the 'But'.

It only had a payload capacity of 1,183 lbs.

A few days ago I stopped at my local Chevy dealer. I looked at 5 trucks and one LTZ trim package and 4 x 4. It had a payload of just over 2,000lbs. The other payloads were all over 1,800lbs. GM really upped the capacity of their redesigned 2019 1500 series trucks.

That is a big but. It is nice, but it can only transport groceries. Which, btw, is a pretty big market. In Utah, there are drive ways with such a steep pitch from the road (drainage) a normal car needs to take the driveway like a low-rider to prevent scraping. That truck would be a good fit there.

I liked that Ram Limited until I saw the very low SUV like payload. In these next few years the Chevy and Ford will have new interiors and safety options.

A 2019 Nissan Altima has a payload of 900lbs. That is just 300 lbs less than 2019 Ram 1500 Limited.

It will be interesting to see what these next few years bring. I would like to see the 150/1500 series trucks gain payload capacity and not just a pretty interior.

Correction to my statement - I said I liked the Ram 1500 Limited until I saw the payload....I should have said I liked it until I saw the payload and nose bleed price.

The 8spd tranny does make a difference. And the coil springs are a smoother ride. And it is much more quiet than my previous truck. MPG with some 6% grades was avg 10.50 pulling 6000# TT. Max RPM'S was 3.5. Payload on the new truck is 3200#. But, my previous truck was a 2005 2500 ram with the 5.7 hemi and I pulled the same TT all over the place with no issues, just higher RPM'S. I would think not a Huge difference between the 2019 and your 2014, especially if it's paid for. Cheers.
