BTW to the Ram guys-I am jealous of that trailer brake controller.

Isn't it interesting how different people take away different items from the same video?
I saw that the mighty 1000lb tq that RAM advertises is largely irrelevant and of course you don't actually need a 1 ton DRW to do work . We run IKE very regularly...

i did. we spent about 2 hrs. going front to back. The mechanic i use there has over 25yrs. gm diesel exp.
i wouldn’t even consider getting rid of mine if they traded me straight across. the engine does have some benefits supposedly on cooling. personally i have never had an issue with mine, even climbing in colo. at 95^ outside. the redesigned oil cooling sounds good, but most diesels have the oil nozzle that cools the bottom of the piston. imo the grille and dash layout is ridicules switches appear to just be thrown any which way. underneath: the frame us different several ways, but we think the biggest difference is in the composition of the steel itself, less flexing. cross-members appeared about the same. we took both the next day to the scales for all weights. front was175lbs lighter than mine, back was lighter, total difference. was 325 lighter. no opinion yet on how well the new body will hold up or how many squeaks and rattles will manifest themselves after 100k miles. it does ride and drive nice, but we didnt think it was any better than mine. we didn’t think the 5” extra wb. really helped there, and will make it harder to get weight up on the front axle when hauling a camper. ajmho

laj - cool and good to know and kinda reinforces my core beliefs. It is no longer like the old days where fuel injection was a big improvement over carburation. Or better rust prevention was added. Like now, a direct injected engine is only slightly better than MPI. Can't really notice it when driving.
From what you are saying, and I can easily believe it that there may be small improvements that are difficult to see or feel.
That tailgate is too complicated with more moving parts. I wonder how long before those moving parts break. Can't be fully used with a trailer hitch ball in place... humm.
Oh, when I was buying a lot of cars I had a 1985 Toyota Celica. The redesigned car in 1986 was uglier and the 1990 redesign was even uglier yet IMHO. I never bought a newer Celica. The general feeling is the GM 2500/3500 trucks are now ugly. That will not sell many trucks.
Thanks for the update.

I think it is just as funny that the GM with less HP and Torque will out tow both the Ram and Ford.
Makes me think GM has a more accurate power rating.

Except that it didn’t out tow the Ram.
Both trucks pulled the same trailer.
The Ram weighs 1000 pounds more.
Trucks tied in speed.
1000 pound heavier Chevy loses same race. I have a DRW Chevy, it’s a lot slower than my identically equipped 2500HD. So to make it clear for those in Rio Linda my 2500HD short bed will OUT PULL my 3500 DRW towing my 17k fiver. It’s just overloaded when it does it. So the 10 speed GM will not out pull the 6 speed Ram.

I saw on dealers website that has 2019 GMC 2500 trucks discounted $12,000 and one 2020 GMC 2500 discounted $1,000.
Now is not a good time to buy a 2020.
Not impressed with the 10 speed does not surprise me as the 6 speed in my F-250 with 3:73 gears seems perfect. At least perfect driving solo.
Also seems the 6.6 gas engine is only marginally better than the 6.0.

The 6.6 will have active fuel management, the 6.0 was not designed for it hence the replacement. Should be much better in the mpg department (hopefully)
