No problem for me as I want to see some on the ground before I decide.

What's wrong with the 2017? Or you just want a new toy...

Out of sheer curiosity are you getting rid of the Entegra for the DRV and Truck? If so what pushed you to go that way?

Sold our Entegra back in May. We've had a fifth wheel before and really enjoyed the roominess of it. After 3 motorhomes we just decided that a 5th wheel would suit us better. We stay in places for longer periods rather than moving about frequently. We travel with 2 big dogs and its gonna be an adjustment for them to get used to not being able to move about when travelling.
This is just our choice and may not work for everybody but hoping its the right direction for us.

Thinking about downsizing a bit. I like the dually, I've had 2 of them, but would prefer a single rear wheel with a smaller footprint at this point in my life. Our Winslow is designed to be pulled by a srw short bed but the hitch weight has kept me in a dually. If Ford matches or exceeds the GVWR of new GM 3500's I will probably get the Ford. If not, I've had GMC's before and they were great.

Don’t know if it’s any help but I ordered my 2018 F-450 in October 2017 as soon as they started taking orders. It came in early February 2018.

I placed my order with the dealer in early July. Got the build start date of August 29 from the dealer and confirmed with the factory. So best guesstimate of middle October for delivery. Around 4 months seems to be the norm.

I think no one is motivated enough to find out for me. I have a DRV on order with expected delivery date of mid Oct. Looks as if I'll be looking for a hauler to bring it home for me. Was hoping someone on this forum might have a contact in a Ford dealership.

Just for fun contact Freightliner and get pricing on a MDT. The pricing shouldn’t be that far off. The Freightliner will have much more capability. Go look at one and have them flip up the hood do you can see what a tough truck looks like. I personally think you would be happier in the long run.

A Frightliner M2 106 Sport Chassis makes the dually trucks look small. 22.5" wheels/tires and one more step up. If you have a bad knee or can not pull yourself up into a Sport Chassis the exercise will be good for you. Air suspension, air cab air hitch would be the cats meow.
Big torque, big HP from the bigger engine too.
TFL, Mr. Truck has a video on YouTube.
I am thinking it is around $25,000 / $30,000 more than a dually.

I looked at several " new" 2014 sportchassis that were reduced to $130000. New 19s list 160 or better. Wanted to pull the trigger but decided the 450 was a better choice for me. The sportchassis is just a hauler. I wanted a truck.

Spoke with a couple of people here at work. Job 1 for 2020 models is in fact Nov. 4. No one knew why it is so late this year, usually it is sometime in August or September.

I find this thread very interesting because at one point I was thinking of a new GMC 2020 2500hd to replace our current TV... and I had looked at the Ford but no specs were available.
Because both mfg units are "Brand New for 2020" I decided to wait to see how they show up and how they perform.. I've always been hesitant to buy the first year out and since this is a "Major upgrade" in both chassis and engine are any of you concerned... A friend (service writer at ford) told me when the new build of the diesel engine came out he was swamped with issues that could not be answered... I just am concerned that the 2020's will have some things to work out once they hit the ground... but, that's just my thought... how about you?

I was wrong about the cost of the new sport chassis, sorry. The cost is $165,000.
As far as buying the 1st year of a redesigned truck I really do not have an issue. I bought a 2011 F-150, the 1st year for the Coyote engine. I bought a 2012 F-450 the 2nd year for the 6.7 Powerstroke, now I have a 2017 F-250 the 1st year for a redesigned truck and I just bought a 2019 Nissan Altima the 1st year for the redesigned car.
So far I have had good luck.
I will look at the 2020 F-350 7.3 litre truck when it comes out. If I can get a good deal I would think about buying it. I can be picky to color and options because I really like my 2017 F-250 6.2.

FWIW in regards to timing. Last year I ordered my 2019 F450 in early march basically the day order banks opened. I got it late September. 6 months to delivery.

Just an FYI - TFL just posted a towing test of the Freightliner M2.
In a nut shell the truck is all about slow and steady. 350HP and 1,150 ft. lbs. of torque. The truck excels at control and not so much speed. The 9.0 liter diesel (I think) builds power slow but steady.
