3500 Dodge Ram Torque - VIN Question

I have been looking for a 2012-2015 Dodge Ram 3500 DWR 4x4.

When I run the VIN number through several online VIN decoders, some vehicles show a 400/ft lb torque, with the 6.7l Cummins diesel engine and the 68RFE transmission.

400/ft lbs seem very low, and I can't find the exact specs on this year range from dodge.

Did Dodge make 3500 duallys with only 400/ft lbs torque, or is the VIN decoder just not getting the correct info?

This is one VIN decoder that I have used... and this is a VIN number of one of the trucks VINs 3C63RRJL3FG541779

2015 Ram has 660-865 ft lb

Depends on what transmission is used.

On the 2015 Ram 3500 6.7L CTD with 68RFE you should have 800 torque. The 6.7L CTD and Aisin you should have 865 torque.

The Ram trucks also offer a manual transmission the G56 and this will have less engine torque depending on model year than an automatic. Now the AISIN transmission was not offered until 2013 and this is in a high output model only. Ram also offers a gas engine for their trucks and this is where the 400LB-FT torque comes from.

In 2013 through 2014 the manual transmission was offered at 660 LB-Ft of torque, the 68RFE was offered at 800LB-Ft of torque and the AISIN was offered at 850LB-FT of torque. The 2015 truck has the same torque output for the manual and 68RFE transmission but the AISIN is rated at 865 LB-FT of torque for that model year.

I'd be surprised to see the Aisin in a 3500 pickup. I may be wrong, but I think it was only used in the 4500-5500 chassis cab units. Its huge.

Are you sure that the Nissan is using the AISIN AS69RC HD or is it a different model for the Nissan?

As for the early C&C model trucks; such as the 3500, 4500 and 5500 they used a AISIN AS68RC Transmission at least in 2008.

6.7's with 68 RFE had 650 lb/ft till mid 2011 when they went to 800. Both were 350 HP. I think they are 370HP now but still 800 lb /ft.

It might be an AISIN but is it the same one that RAM is using the AS69RC HD. This one offers a PTO option on the C&C models of truck.

Thanks for all the reply's. I had to take a second look to make sure I was looking at a diesel after the comment that 400/ft lbs is from the gas line.

The trucks I am looking at do indeed come with the Cummins Turbo Diesel and the 68RFE automatic transmission. As I understand, all of these should have 800/ft lbs of torque. My guess is that the VIN decoders that I am using don't have all the information correct.

Thanks everyone for your input!

Agree that for those years 400ft lbs. if torque from the diesel is way low. Agree that number sounds like the gasoline engine.
