my little brother and i drag our TT to some of the remote dirt bike camps in Western Canada (BC) and with out 4x4 low we would not make it up some of the hills. having said that 4x4 low on the down grades saves on the breaks

I would like that too.
But that option always seems to be only available in the most expensive models. At least for the f150 ...

I doubt anyone posting on a thread like this will ever say "I wish I had bought a 2wd". Simply put anyone who would say something like that would not buy a 4wd.

My 01 ctd ram has never had anything done to the 4x4 or front end for that matter in its 520,000 mile life. I will never pull with anything but a 4x4.

Thanks it's been a great truck. Only major items replaced threw the years are the vp44 injection pump,lift pump and clutch. Now that she's retired to camper pulling duty only the milage has only went up to 527,000 over the last 2 years.
It lives a life of leisure now sitting in my shop till it's time to go camping.

2wd. Vs 4 wd
Drove and towed with 2 WD vehicles for years but not in the last 20. I'm sure it depends entirely where you live and type of camping you do. We own NO 2 WD vehicles anymore. My wife drives my old Trailblazer and when we get snow, 4 HI does the job. We pull a 28 FT TT and like to go into some lakes that are nice dry hard packed road but when it rains, it's slime. Also when we go south in the winter invariably run into snow in the Siskus(sp) so always 4 WD for us. We are planning on doing the haul road to Deadhorse AK this year and wouldn't thing of doing it with 2 WD. The last issue is resale. You couldn't give a 2WD truck away in this country.

Sorry guys but as to resale we sold our 07 Ram 2wd, 5.9 in a heart beat for top dollar.

I don't think anybody's claiming you can't sell or get by with a 2WD. Its like the argument about towing with a 1500 vs a 3500. They'll both tow both but the 3500 has a lot more capability when you need it.

Yes original never been into 5.9 cummins and 6 speed trans.
