5th RV Hauler Body
After watching the RV Dreams video (that's allot of storage!) we've started to look at hauler bodies.
The Highway Products body has 70cuft of storage but what looks to be higher rails vs. Utility Bodywerks and others.
Higher rails make it harder to reach the hitch but there is more storage in both side and on the deck.
For those that have hauler bodies what have they found to be the +/- of the beds they are using? We are looking for ideas on what people would change or add.

This is what I have B&W Custom Truck Bed, don't know if they still make them. Has a lot of storage. The draws behind the cab roll out about 3' on each side. It has about 8" deep of storage in the side rails plus the lower cabinets. Spare tire is under the cover in the bed. Has the B&W Turnover Ball with Companion Hitch. I'm 6' tall can reach the hitch lever easy.

Around here in west Texas, the most popular is the Western Hauler, made in Fort Worth.
Western Hauler - "The True Choice of Champions"
Used most often for towing race-horse trailers with LQ. But also used to tow huge cattle trailers and the occasional RV trailer.
The only complaint I've heard against any of the hauler bodies is they are not cheap. Several years ago I obtained a Western Hauler price list, and the base price for their hauler body was $6,750. Herrin Hauler tow bodies were a bit less expensive. Highway Products and B&W were way up there.

As long as I can still stack plywood on the back of my truck 
But I have no idea what I woudl do when hauling dirt.. I guess it would be time for a trailer, but who wants an extra trailer hanging around... oh wait ME 
I heard the Herrin only comes in one color, and that you have to have a paint shop paint it to match your truck..

Stake sides for the dirt!
Herrin and Western hauler don't/won't build aluminum. We want aluminum.
Looking for suggestions on what people would change.

Over in North Texas I see a lot more CM beds made in OK. They make an aluminum hauler bed ($$$$)

We are hoping to find a design that can be used with a 5th and a SOB.

The hauler beds are pricy the original owner paid about $10,000 for the B&W bed including the hitch. I have the build sheets with pricing.

Would you buy a truck with the pick-up bed and trade that bed for the hauler bed or just buy cab chassis and then the hauler bed? Sometimes the cab chassis makes a better truck. My friend bought a Ram cab chassis and got a 50 gallon fuel tank while the factory pick-up trucks cam with a 35 gallon fuel tank.
