5th wheel for 2017 FORD F350

I purchased a 2017 Ford F350. The bed looks like it has a place to mount a 5th wheel. Do I still have to have a under bed appliance or will the companion hitch fit in the hardware that is already there. Thanks, Midlothian

Most hitch manufactures sell factory hitch’s for the OEM puck hardware. I use a pull rite.

We have a 2014 Ford F-350 with the puck system and bought a B&W fifth hitch. Easy to put in and take out and no additional rails needed.

If you got the 5th wheel preparation package that all you need is the hitch .

If you truck has the 5th wheel prep package all you need is a hitch that will fit in the puck system.

The prep package looks like this:

Ditto on our 2017 F350 - puck system with B&W two-piece hitch. Two pieces each weigh about 70 pounds instead of having to wrestle around 150 pounds or more.

The B&W Companion 5er hitch will plug right into the puck holes of the Ford 5er/gooseneck prep package. The under-bed rails are already there as part of the prep pkg. If your bed looks like the one tuffr2 posted, then then a B&W Companion hitch will be a good choice.

The big hole in the middle of the bed is for a gooseneck ball. If you want to tow a gooseneck trailer, then you must add the Reese Elite gooseneck ball. The B&W TurnOverBall gooseneck ball may not work in the Ford prep kit.
