Hello, moving to a 5th wheel and need advice from anyone with a Megacab on hitch options. I know I will need a slider hitch, but I am not sure that for the amount of time I will be towing that I will really need something like the Pull Rite.

I was looking at the Reese Signature Series as the hitch removes completely. Apparently they have had a bit of trouble with the install on the rail kit and are coming out with another one.

Thanks for the help

Our experience is we did not do our homework on hitches and bought a hidden hitch this was our first 5th wheel a 36' toy hauler pulling with a 2500 dodge quad cab. We ended up with two dents in the cab because our hitch had to be manually released then we lost our 5th wheel out of the hitch due to the inadequate locking system. We recently have up graded our truck to a 2007 Dodge Mega Cab dually along with a new hitch. We have a Superglide 24K hitch they are more money but well with it. We have pulled our trailer several times with the superglide and love it my husband was even able to do a u-turn on a four lane street with our trailer attached with no problems. I would suggest that you go on line and look up the superglide they will send you information.

Should you need more information on the rail kit for this truck let me know I will ask my installer what he used because he had some concern for our mega cab. They only thing I can say that may not be good for this hitch is that it is very heavy and if you are planning on removing the hitch from your truck often it may be difficult.

Good luck I hope this helps.

There are sevral e-trailer sales outlets selling the 16K and the new 18K Superglide slider with the superrail kit for about $1800.00.
If you have a short bed truck like mine this hitch purchase is a no brainer.

The is the option of extended pins.

above and beyond the normal.

Fifth Airborne makes an extender called the sidewinder. Click on the video on the left side of thier website.

I don't know anyone using it, but it looks good.
