Does anyone know if I can use a 5th wheel hitch in a 2007 Ford F150 Supercrew 4X4 with a 5.5ft truck bed? I have heard both yes and no answers. The last answer I got was No, because the sidewalls of the bed are taller and this will interfere with the tongue on the trailer.
Any ideas?

I sure wouldn't put a fifth wheel on a box that short. The pin would be mounted about one to three inches in front of the rear axle, practically putting the front of the trailer in the rear seat.
You would be far ahead to stick with a TT with that tow vehicle.

Harleygirl, I have to agree. Seems like Ford had a note in the towing guide that the SuperCrew trucks were not suitable for 5er towing.
And welcome to IRV2....

The answer to your question is yes. PullRite makes a 12K SuperGlide hitch that can be installed in a 2007 SuperCrew F150. There may be other hitch options but I would only consider an automatic slide hitch with a 5.5ft bed. If you were to ask "should" I try to pull a 5th wheel, with this tow vehicle, then my answer would be: No. I think a regular travel trailer is a better option. Not only will you have severe weight limitations but you'll also be limited to certain width trailers, at least per PullRite's footnote on that tow vehicle/hitch combination.

I have a Nissan Titan Crewcab, short bed, and the Pullrite 12000. I pull a Trail Bay 30' 5th wheel. It works just great. I know the Ford had a little higher sides on the bed, but I believe it will work. I think the pin box can be adjusted on the trailer to get a little more clearence. The only mod I had to do to my Titan was put air bags on it. The hitch weight was approx 1200 lbs and set the rear of the Titan down,so to level it I put 50 psi in the air bags. The Titan (2006) has plenty of power with this size trailer. The dry weight of the trailer is 7200 lbs.

Yes, you absolutely can do that setup. I have a 2004 F150 4X4 supercrew with the SuperGlide 12K and pull a 28.5 Jayco Bunkhouse
I have pulled all over Texas with it and have not had a problem yet.
