All that smoothing up front doesn't do a lot, unfortunately. There's probably more air drag at the squared-off rear of our trailers than anywhere. Also remember that air drag increases with the square of speed. Your drag at 30 mph is increased by a factor of 4 when going 60. Bump that up to 90 and you've got 9 times as much drag... That's why we're seeing those contraptions under and on the back of 18 wheelers these days.

Nothing in there about not being able to afford to go, just looking for ways to tweak his mileage. Most of us have done it. Towing or not. Especially when fuel hit $4 a gallon.

And IF MPG are a worry then RVng, Boating , ATVng, Off Roading or numerous other motorized luxury escapes are not for you.

10-11 mpg towing is GREAT.
Buy a MH and 5-7 is going to be the norm.

It is that simple.
