7th wire outside if receiver

This is 2001 Silverado trailer plug. 6 wires in and one wire on the outside assuming for trailer brake. But don’t have this on trailer. Does anyone know why it’s like this and what I have to do on trailer to make this work.

The trailer brake is the blue wire, isn't it?

Green is right turn and brake light, I think...

Put a test light on that connector, to ground, and then step on the brakes and see if it lights. If so, it is the wire for the center high mounted brake light for a bed topper or cap such as a LEER.

Some GM products require plugging in at a multi wire connector for the high center brake light, others use a single wire like this.

Universal plug that matches the connector installed by LEER and others in the cap is a American Technology Components Inc. C90-907 kit which has inline fuses and wire for brake and dome.

That’s what I thought and the reason I’m confused.

I don't know what it is for, but color coding al.ost never applys to RV plugs or pickups the way it would for a tractor trailer so saying blue is this or green is that is risky in this situation. Using a test light can also be tricky for the brake wire, won't always light a test light especially if the controller doesn't see a proper load.

I would use the test light for a process of elimination first, see what is what, and see what is left over the extra wire could also be an always hot, for if your trailer has certain types of equipment on it (usually a more commercial style application) you could try calling a Chevy dealer, ask nicely and they might look it up for you.

Try putting a tester on that other wire and see if it lights when you put it in reverse. Could be it is set up that way to lock out surge brakes when backing up.
