Friends of ours have them on their F-350. They said it really improves their ride.

Do you need the airbags, NO. Should you have them, maybe. as stated they do help the ride quality, if you adjust the air pressure to the load being carried. I have total air ride on the rear of mine, with automatic leveling, it is a little rough empty, but rides like a cadillac pulling my 16k 5er. Do yourself a favor and take them off the old truck and install them on the new one. You don't need them for weight, but you can sure use them for comfort.

I have an '08 F-450 that I put about 4,500 lbs. of pin weight on it. When you put any heavy weight on your truck it will squat. My does about 2" with this weight. The problem with four wheel drive Fords is that when the rear squats the front raises and the wheels roll in a little. This causes excessive outside tire wear. So if you wish to eliminate this wear, use some airbags.

I had a 2008 F350 Dually and I put Firestone Riderite air bags on it because with the 5th wheel on it squatted about 2 inches, but caused driveline shudder. With the bags it sat level and the driveline shudder was gone.
Empty, I ran 5 lb in the bags to keep them inflated, and the ride was great.

I am new here. We have a 2011 CHEVROLET.DURAMAX. 3500 DRW.
pulling a 40' F.R. cardinal. Put " AIR LIFT " bags on a year ago. Leveled the bed up.
I run 50# of air, which brings it just off the over loads.
