Airlift vs Firestone
Is either one better then the other, or is it just personal preference/price? Thanks.

Good question. I've only used Firestone and they work fine for me.

I installed the Airlift on a 6.7 Ford diesel. It was rather crude, (I de-burred and painted the parts), and was more difficult to install than necessary. On the 6.7 FTE forum is a video of the Firestone install and I would go that way next time.

I am on my second Air Lift air bags. I installed one on my 2001 Chevy Silverado and on my 2008 Ram Mega Cab. I have had no issues with the fit and finish nor with durability of the bags. I do have the wireless Air kit Gen 3 with the LoadLifter 5000 system and I really like it with no wires in the cab. Just set your pressure and the compressor and controller will maintain the set pressure as required.

I looked at both and can't remember why I chose the firestone over the air lift. I saw little difference in the two but something made me decide to pick the firestone. Installation was not bad. I used a hose clamp to squeeze it enough for installation. Make sure you get the one for MH. Do not order it off amazon, Firestone will not cover warranty because that have no idea who the vender was. I called and asked Firestone.
The original bag was firestone and they lasted 20 years.

I too have looked at both and have yet to install.. I had Air Lift on the tow vehicle I used back in my trailer days. Was happy.. Kind of low-cost build but the problems I had were... ZERO
Firstone.. Well some folks seem to think it's a bit better.. but I'm likely to pop up to Lansing some summer and get an Air Lift.

I have had both and prefer the Air Lift due to the fact that one of the Firestone bags failed me.

Gee WeBe.. as I said. i've heard the opposite from others but am still leaning towards Air-Lift for ...well, to be honest political reasons (They help provide my retirement income, so one might say I'm paid)
Glad to hear from someone else who prefers them due to experience.
I hope to find the kilobuck or two I need either this summer or next.

Kind of sounds like it's pretty much six of one, half dozen of the other. Guess I'll do some shopping and pick the best deal.

I went with AirLift for no other reason than price, installation was straight forward with no complaints about how they were manufactured.
I did install a dual gauge on the dash with separate bag inflator switches.

AirLift is the lower price, and in my case I know where the Factory is since I have other reasons to be in that area from time to time.
(Not far from the office that e-transfers half my income to me every month).
I plan on asking about "Factory install" make sure it's done right.

Apples to apples as in same weight rating the difference should be minimal. I've heard some people have less than great results with the airlift 1000. My Firestone is the 5000 series and have been great. I'm on my second truck with them and have yet to have a problem at all. I couldn't imagine having an HD truck without them. It's just great to have the ability to control the bouncing resistance when towing various loads.
