Andersen VS PullRite

New here, but been RVing for almost 50 years.
I'm looking at the Andersen ultimate hitch and the PullRite 2400. Both are the rail mount. I'm pulling a 30' 5th wheel with a '12 Ram 3500 crew cab 4x4 long box.

Would like to hear your views on these two hitches.
Side note I don't use campgrounds often so loading at odd angles is a factor. sometimes need to hitch from the side. Thanks in advance for any help.

Check out PullRites Superlite 20k series. Same design as the Andersen.

I've owned both and the are not comparable. The Pullrite is a heavy boat anchor and in my opinion is not worth it's value for scrap.

The Andersen is MUCH lighter, easier to hook up, and tows much better. The one I have is for sale but only because I've sold my dually and am no longer towing the big 5th wheel. If I tow a 5th wheel in the future, it will be with an Andersen. For me nothing else compares.

My opinion of course. I'm certain there are others with a differing point of view.

Yup. I’ll stay with my Superglide.

And that's why we have Fords and Chevys! Everyone needs to make their own choice based on experience and what works for them!

Have the Anderson and absolutely love it. Better than 90% of the boat anchor clunking 5'th wheel hitches.

Never had the Pullrite, nor would I. Never been impressed with any of their products.

Also look at the Reese Goosebox. If you have the gooseneck ball in your bed you should be able to use it. A little harder to hook up but after that it's a better smoother ride than Anderson and FAR better than a traditional 5'th wheel hitch. With nothing left in the bed after you unhook.

No clunking with my Superglide hitch. Smooth and quiet.
I wonder why OTR trucks don’t use a version of the Andersen hitch?
Must be a reason.

Does your truck have air brakes? Semis use them, must be a reason.
HINT: Just because they use them does not mean there isn't a better solution for a totally different market.

[mod edit]

Square wheel works fine no sense in changing. Dirt under my feet is flat, earth must be flat.
It's ok to evolve, learn and make improvements.

Apples to oranges comparisons.
Yup, I’m old school. Converted my Heritage Softail to a chain. It won’t break if a rock gets in it.
BTW, It doesn’t bother me for you to make fun of H-D.
I wouldn’t feel comfortable hauling my 13,000lb rig with a trailer ball and an adapter attached to the kingpin by a couple bolts and set screws.
The OP asked for opinions and I gave mine.
If you all like the Andersen, use it. I prefer not to for the reasons I’ve stated. There is no right or wrong here.

Several posts have been removed and others edited. You guys are working real hard to get this thread closed, which isn't going to help the OP. Discuss the topic, the pros and cons of Anderson and Pullrite hitches, like the adults you are. Don't make political comments, personal attacks or snide remarks, all of which are violations of iRV2's rules.

again,again and again

So we are off to the races once more about a hitch. Wonder why it creates such interest. I guess the other posters point is why would you bother or waste your time posting about a hitch you won`t use and say that is inferior. You want to tell us the engineering behind your statements. So go out to your hitch and look to see what actually holds your head to the mount I think it`s just one maybe two bolts, can`t imagine holding back 6 or 7 tons with just a bolt or two. Sounds real scary to me.
When I had my Pullrite super glide boat anchor the head was held on with just one bolt that had to be oiled along with the other parts each day, I`ll repeat each and every day of use what a flaming mess it was in my bed. Anyway lets see if we can keep this thread under 78 posts cause nobody going to win..... well maybe Andersen.
