Another Ram question, transmission

In the 3500 late model there are 2 automatic transmissions offered the AISIN and a 68RFE. Depending on the differential ratio the AISIN has 4-8K more towing capability although payload specs are a bit less 100#+- again depending on the differential ratio. The published towing weight for a 2016 CC DRW long bed with 68RFE is 16600 - 21600 depending on differential. 20510-30660 for the AISIN. I'm not likely to be in the 20K-30K 5th wheel range so is it worth it to search only for the AISIN. I hate being "under trucked" but don't want to specify something not really needed. Trailer I'm probably going to end up with is a Solitude at 15K GVWR. Any downsides or notable benefits to either one? Other than the obvious more towing capacity that is.

One downside to the AISIN is there is not and supposedly never will be any performance tuning available for it.

If you are a guy who wants to delete or do some shifting tuning stick with the 68RFE.

the 68 is a much better trans than the earlier one and does not suffer the failures of the past.
