B & W Turnover ball Install

I just talked to a Installer and they said they have stopped installing B & W turnover Ball Systems because they are installed 6" in front of axles instead of on top of the axles. They said they have lots of complaints of 5th wheels hitting cabs of trucks in short beds.
Is this a sales pitch or is this true?
I Have a 2015 Chevy 3500 SRW diesel 6.5' bed
Would like to use a Anderson Hitch to pull a Heartland big country 3650RL
GVWR 15,500 lbs
39' 4" long
We will only use trailer for 3-4 week trips. 3-4 times a year
Thanks for and thoughts

Talk to another installer.... if he's installing the balls 6" in front of the axles he's doing it wrong and it's no wonder the 5th are hitting the cabs. Mine is directly over the axles and works great. I have a newer mid-profile 5th that is in no danger of hitting the cab - I still have a slider just in case I get into a tight spot though. Overall, the B/W is a great product.

Mine was installed in June @ the B&W factory in Humbolt Ks and its directly over the axle. He wants to sell you a higher margin product.

My 2014 Ram 3500 DRW 8' bed has the B&W Turnover Ball is mounted directly over the axle. Combined with the B&W Companion, it's a great setup.

My current and last 2 trucks use the B&W underframe hitch--no way is it 6" in front of the rear axle.

I have a 2015 Silverado 2500 with the Duramax. I installed the B&W a few months ago myself. Actually me and a friend. The ball is directly over the axle. The hardest part was cutting out a section of the factory exhaust heat shield. The scariest part was cutting the round hole in the bed!

I say buy the hitch and go for it.

I have the turnover ball in my 6.6ft 2015 GMC 2500 and use the Andersen Ultimate. For the bed ball I use the 4" extension ball that moves the 5er nose an additional 4" away from cab. 12000 miles and no issues.

Mine is centered over the rear axle. He is either installing them wrong or he is trying to sell you something that will put more money in his pocket.

Good move IMO.

I have a B&H for last 6 years towing horse trailer, our farrier has them on his trucks. These have been workhorses and all install over the axle.

B&H also has a 5th wheel that attaches to the turnover assembly, so I saw in advertisements.
