Bike rack bounce

Added a hitch to my TT - after an hour of towing with my bike and 2 kids bikes (strapped to prevent side bounce) I pulled over to take kids bikes off . ... just could feel the extra bounce

Anyone have a recommendation of possibly a better bike rack!? I have a solid 1 now, but it's heavy so maybe a lighter more RV friendly 1??!

Thanks

Best bike rack made is the 1upUSA

They are made near Platteville WI, all aluminum, no plastic parts to break, hold the bikes by the wheels, fit kids bikes up to fat tire bikes. They are also modular(1 to 4 bikes) and fold up to fit in a small space when you are not using them.

They are expensive but worth every penny. I have had the Thule, Kuat and 1up... I have a plethora of bikes I've put on them, Road bike, cross bike, Tandem, Full suspension Mountain, Hard Tail Mountain, kids bikes...

I help coach a high school mountain bike team and haven't had a bike that didn't fit and have never had one come loose.

Quiet the hitch, and the bikes may stop rattling:

If the rack is heavy and taking two bikes off , made a difference , perhaps your tongue weight is too low with all the bikes back there.
Do you know your trailer total weight and what the tongue weight was before you added the rack?

etrailer.com has some great bike racks! I have an Aero BikeWing V2 (they make a 4)
and it's solid as a rock. No rattle/no movement.

Weight good .... I took off tire and always tow with water in front tank! I'm certain it's the rack -- either the quiet hitch or new rack in the future

In my present bike rack that I ordered as an option to my TT, I drilled a 3/8" hole near the top of the mast, and but a bolt thru there that has a ring on the TT side of the mast. I then attached two 1.5" nylon ratcheting straps to the ring and then wrapped the other end around the frame in front of the bumper on each side. I tightened, the straps to pull back on the mast of the bike rack towards the TT, and all of the bounce was eliminated.
