I have heard that air bags give you a better ride when the rv is rocking side to side driving down the road. It also helps to keep the load level

Diddo on the mud flaps. They will save your trailer.
They are designed not to fly up behind the truck, and to be 20" wide and about 7" off the ground for maximum protection.
You can get them with or without any mirror finish stainless steel, but that Longhorn design is very nice.

It was a pleasure to deal with DuraFlap! I knew I wanted the SS weights/bars at the bottom and I also wanted the "LongHorn" symbol on there. So the person I spoke to said I will talk to the shop and they determined that both could be on the rear flaps, I was a happy camper! With the factory rear air ride My truck sits lower so I raised the rears by 2" and they still look and work great. The above pic shows the rear flaps in the stock height.

Before adding bags try it out with RV fully loaded on some rough roads.

You can also get it in 370 which l feel is more then adaquete with a 6 spd tranny. I have 342 which pulls good but my loaded wt is where you empty wt is. Had 430 in an 06 with a 4 spd tranny and the fuel mileage sucked. I think the 372 would be the way to go with your setup. Get the factory air .

From what we have read the air bags give you a more comfortable ride, stability, and leveling down the road. Am I correct on this? Anyone?

I have never weighed my trailer, but know it is at least 17000 lbs and have never added air bags to any of the 3 Rams I have had, and never had a problem. I definitely would recommend the Dura Flaps well, the best mud flap I have had in years.

There are benefits of each. 3.43 will give you the best gas mileage of the three. but the lowest towing ability. 4.10 gives the highest towing but lowest mileage. The 3.73 is a compromise between the other two.

We're around 15k and with a DRW 3500, it rides nicer with the trailer. I'd wait on bags too, until I felt how it rode. They can only add more spring, which only helps if you're heavy..

I pull a 18000 lb 5th wheel and have no problems with 373 gears. 11 mpg towing and 16.5 highway at 80 mph. I have bags installed and you can set them to where the ride is excellent with the weight
