I've had good luck with my 2006 F-150 that I purchased from the local dealer 3.5 years ago. The truck had 61,000 miles but was a "Certified Pre Owned" and as such came with a 100,000 mile 6 year power train warranty. I assume GM and Dodge offer similar programs.

Before Ford will designate a vehicle as Cert Pre Owned they go through it thoroughly replacing every hose, belt, all fluids etc., and not every vehicle qualifies. I would not hesitate to shop for a Cert Pre Owned again.

I purchased a 2006 ram 3500 diesel dually w/57k miles ($27k in 2010) from carmax to tow our 10k lb travel trailer. Carmax offers 5day return policy and 30 day bumper-bumper warranty. In two years i put 30k mi on it and never looked back it was a great experience. That truck would tow a house!

I have a plain Jane XL and electric luck had to be added. Very satisfied with my own additions.
