Well, I've been busy. I did find the TA truck stop off 95 in Jessup and had my Tundra weighed. I was happy that there were no surprises so I feel confident that it will pull my new travel trailer. I have made a decision and a deal and I will take delivery of my new 2010 Jayco Eagle Super Lite 25RKS tomorrow. I'm excited and anxious at the same time. I have had one driving lesson with a truck and horse trailer (mostly backing up) and the dealer will give me another lesson and then I hit the road.

Thanks for all your help and suggestions. I'm sure I will have many more questions and am looking forward to communicating with you all in the future. Maybe I'll even see some of you in Arizona. I expect to get there in late January.

Its hard trying to decide between 2 trailers or layouts. While we were looking at the RV show we kept going back and forth between makes and models. Once we saw the floorplan and trim level in our current trailer we were sold. After 5 seasons and 250+ nights we would buy the same brand and layout. 100% happy....

There are somethings you have to list as not having to compromise on. For my wife it was cabinet storage space and counter space. For me it was over-all "fit & finish". You have to kind if sit down and picture yourself accually using it.

There are several different construction methods being discussed here and perhaps there is some confusion as well. TrailLite units have a laminated wall that has no frameing inside it - thats right no studs or other wall framing. There is an alum tubing that runs around the outside edge of the wall. The Jayco units all have real framing - either alum or wood- on the alum framed units the frame is stuffed with foam insulation and then the fiberglass skin and the luan interior panels are all laminated together to form the sidewalls.

As for weights - the G2 has a GVWR of 8200 lbs and a dry wt of either 6225 or 7135 depending on how the 910 tounge wt is factored in. IMHO this unit is way too much for the Tundra to handle safely - the tounge wt with full LPG tanks and batteries will easily top 1000 lbs - which is geting real close to the payload of the Tundra.

The EagleSL is a very similar plan - but is much lighter at 7350 GVWR and a tounge wt of only 625 - which will easily be pushed to over 725 lbs.

Jayco has a much better reputation than R Vision - esp in the early years. I did look at new units last year at an RV show and was not impressed with the overall fit and finish of these rigs. I owned an early Trail-Lite and had nothing but problems with it from day one.
