Thumbs down Can I pull a small toy hauler w/honda odyessy

We have a 2009 Honda Odyessy with Rollx wheel chair conversion. My wife rides in wheelchair, in passenger location. We are looking for a way that she can enter a small camper trailer that we can pull with the odyessy. Has any one pulled a small toy hauler, empty weight of 3050#? Or has any one converted a small 14 ft camper wirh a wider door that would weigh approx.2000#?

the odyssey transmission can barely hold together under its own weight... let alone another 2,000 lbs!

My friend that owns an import auto repair shop puts a transmission in one of those every month... all around 100,000-140,000 miles.

Hi, I would have to agree that it would not be good for a tow vehicle

No, the Odyessy can not come close to pulling a small toy hauler camping trailer. I think the Odyessy is built on the Accord platform which means the Odyessy is really a car.

It would be possible to get a larger van that is wheelchair accessible that could tow a small toy hauler but they would be full sized vans like a Chevy 1500 or 2500 express vans. Ford also make full sized van.

Thanks for the input...I know earlier Odyessy had problems with trans, but hoped by 2009 would be better...Won't be able to make many more trips so thought it might be worth a try.

It's a small toy hauler... you'd have to get creative.

Doable, within reason, and steps taken. I'd be concerned also about the weight your conversion already adds to the vehicle.

Drove my '05 Ody for 105,000 miles and towed it four down for another 40,000 miles with no problems. Used it to tow a utility trailer with 1700#'s of rock in it, very carefully, slowly and only about 6 miles at a time. No way would I tow much more or for longer distances.
