I am shopping for either a GMC/Chevy 2007+ 3/4 ton truck. I am interested in the Cargo Management System, But I want a roll top tonneau cover on the bed, the type with the cannister that sits at the front of the bed. I also will be towing a 5th wheel and want to be able to lock the tonneau when not towing. Pace-Edwards seems to be the only tonneau that will fit over the CMS. What I want from this board is anyone with this setup on their truck to let me know if this is feasible, the pro's and con's. I like the idea of being able to store items over the wheel wells on both sides with the small tool box option and the large chest at the front of the box for larger items. I will be buying an 8 foot box so I am hoping that the tool chests will not be in the way of a fiver hitch. All answers will be appreciated to assist me in this decision. Thanks in advance.

I cannot help with your direct question. I must however, ask; Have you calculated the amount of weight you will be carrying in the cargo management system?
The reason I ask is that depending on how much your 5er weighs, you may be pushing the limits of a 3/4t pickup.

We are looking at the Rockwood 8280SS 5th wheel, GVW of 7900 lbs., pin weight of 898 lbs., trailer dry weight of 6366 lbs. I intend to go with a diesel. The CMS looks good, either with the side boxes or with the front box. I carry a large plastic box in my current truck under a cap that holds my tool box 12 lbs. a portable air compressor, spare parts maybe 30 lbs in all. I don't want both boxes, its either/or. I am concerned about the weight as well. As I stated I want a retractable rolling tonneau cover on the truck for security when not towing and also when towing to cover the 5th wheel hitch after setup in camp. I am looking for anyone who has this setup. Thanks for your reply, I guess that no one on this board has this type of setup. Ford also has a new CMS in their trucks, and Dodge is rumoured to be getting one as well.
