Chev/GMC towing mirrors wide enough for "wide body" trailers?

Looking at 8'6" trailers (Arctic Fox). Are the factory tow mirrors wide enough to see properly?

Are they wide enough to see properly was the question - does "they suck" mean they are not wide enough to see properly?

When towing my Teton, 39', I can't get a very good view of rear. GM mirrors are more about style than function. Sorry about blunt answer but they do suck

Not sure what model truck you have but our mirrors can be extended and no problem with viewing to the rear.

If you have ever rode in a HDT and used their mirrors you would understand my statement.

I have a '04 GMC 3500 Savana conversion van. I sometimes use it to pull my 24' enclosed car hauler. My mirrors don't extend out like some I've seen. They don't stick out far enough to see straight back. I have some aftermarket mirrors that attach to the stock mirrors and provide a second mirror farther out. They work great. Can't remember what brand they are but they came in a nice nylon zip bag. Might have gotten them at Mill's Fleet Farm. Kind of like a Tractor Supply type store.

I have a similar vehicle, and I tow a 39' travel trailer.
I use Velvac mirrors, these are bolt-on installation and they generally come on cutaway cabs, such as Class C motorhomes or box trucks. They are heated, powered and have turn signals, and I got them from ebay.

The downside is that they don't extend/retract, so I fold the arm and rotate the mirror when not towing. Otherwise I am too wide and it makes me uncomfortable in traffic.
