The Chevy dealer here in New Bern, NC has got a 3500 dually crew cab with $14,400 off the sticker. I would like to have it but my funds are in the toilet along with GM. I also got a good truck maybe a little later on. I like to buy high and sell cheap.

Tom,
$14,400 off sounds like a great deal on a dually, is that their 'Red Tag' sale? Did I see a post by you somewhere that your current truck was damaged when the trailer dropped down on it?

Richard, It was damaged at Fancy Gap and I probably was talking about it at Mayberry Campground at the rally. I got it fixed for $193.00. The dually here in New Bern has a big sign across the side of it. GM is giving a $10,000 rebate on trucks like that, everywhere. Last night I was looking at where I buy my trucks and they showing a $10,000 rebate. They got a $52,000 dually they will sell for around $38,000 and I am sure they will do better.

Tom, last week a local TV station ran a commerical where this Chevy dealer advertised a 2WD 3500 for $25,XXX, can't remember the X's, nor whether it was standard cab or what. Great buys are out there, haggling is in these days.

Wish they would give kind of discount off the Kodiak 5500 series. It can't possibly cost GMC as much more to build them than it does to build a 3500.

diandtom..I don't think you will get much more off than what is advertised on that 3500. GM stopped with the large profit mark-up probably 4 years ago.. You may get $500 more off - but the dealer will cave to their lowest price right away now-a-days. I will recommend you buy now if you can afford the unit and even think you may want it.
Timetraveler...please do NOT forget that you are NOT talking about apples and oranges when it comes to the 3500 vs 5500- Heck .. they are lucky to be served "on the same plate".

On another forum a guy posted that his Chevy dealer offered a buy at full sticker price, get one free deal. Desperate times it seems.

Even with all of the great discounts, I'll keep my great old paid for truck.
A Dodge dealer here had a 2500, SLT, Ext cab, 4 wheell drive Cummins for under $30k.
