I think you will have a good match for your 5er and your proposed DRW truck. I towed a 15,500# GVW Grand Junction 5er with my 02 Chevy Duramax LB,CC, dually, for 8 years. Never did have the thought "wish I had a bigger truck".

Your truck will be fine but your pin will be well over 3K!

Speaking of the pin weight; the dry pin weight calculates to 15.5%. multiply 15,500 X 15.5% = 2,402.5#. That assumes you load the 5er to its GVWR evenly.

MOST 5er's load nose heavy. My 36' MS has a pin of 4,500# at 25%.

Jhuff8181,
You will be fine with the 5er that you have. I have a 16,400# GVWR 5er and an 11,400# GVWR truck, and I gross right at 23,500#GCWR, axle weights are well under max. Truck GVWR is right at 11,000#. These numbers are with the trailer at 15,500# and the pin at 3200#.
