Dallas TX Need Fifth Wheel Hitch

I’m in the Dallas area and need to buy a fifth wheel hitch and have it installed on my 2017 F250 Super Duty. Does anyone have a suggestion of a reasonable and reliable dealer or shop to get this done. Google has not been the finest approach thus far. Couple of places quoted me MSRP for the hitch and six hours of labor. Think that is a little high. This would be a standard, rail mounted hitch. Per Lippert, I’m not looking for a adapter type hitch.

DFW Camper and Discount Hitch, both in Arlington are great to work with. Over the years I have used both and have been very pleased.

If you want the puck system and do not have it, it can be added for a reasonable cost. I had the puck system in my older F superduty from the factory and really liked it.

Yeah, you want the Ford 5er hitch, also known as the Reese Elite install kit and hitch.

Any decent hitch installer can install the Reese Elite install kit. Here are the parts required:

The Reese Elite hitch that plugs into that install kit is expensive, but worth it.

18k max trailer gross weight. with or without a slider. You won't need the one rated for up to 26,500 pounds until you trade your F-250 for more truck.

I would also check out PPL Motor Homes, I purchased my last 5th wheel hitch from them when it was on sale. Shipped to my residents in IL with free freight from TX. I have purchased several items from PPL Motor Home for my 5th wheel at a fair price.

Another vote for Discount Hitch in Arlington. DFW Camper has several offices around the metro.

I decided to go with Discount Hitch in Arlington. Bought my B&W Companion 20K hitch from them today. Fair price, install was good, and nice folks. They know what they are doing. Total confidence in my purchase.

Thanks for the feedback.

I completely agree with you. I have bought from both of these places several times.
