Does my Nissan have enough?

I'm looking at buying a wildwood x-lite 261bhxl. weighs right at 4500 lbs unloaded. My truck is a 6 cyl. so it says it will pull this but I wanted others thoughts

That's dry weight and may not be accurate...it's usually more than what they post. Don't forget that you will be hauling yourself, other people, plus gear.

Do some research and do the numbers right. Don't get too close to the limits and be safe.

You'll be over you receivers rating when loaded. You need to start near the 3000lb dry range.

I would go smaller and lighter, you should be looking at lightweight 20 foot trailers, or less.

Or get a bigger truck.

You could also get a scamp 19' fifth wheel. The frontier is perfect for it.

Based on my experience with my 6 cyl Frontier I would say you need a bigger truck. While I am very impressed with how solid my Frontier handles our trailer we are close to the max rear axle rating. The weight you list is about 1,500 pounds more than my trailer's dry weight is listed at.

I have checked my weights on scales so I'm not just guessing about where I am.

Good luck with your search.

From personal experience, I will never tow with a 6 cylinder again
