Did some searching but didn't find an answer to my question. In June I'll be towing my 34' 5'vr with an Alumacraft boat behind it. My only concern is I won't be reaching my destination in one day. For anyone who has double towed and had to lay over for a night where did you hold up for the night? I'm looking to avoid urban or conjested areas. I think this is going to rule out Wal-Marts.

My thinking is you just have to deal with it as you see fit. In other words, where ever you decide to stop, just do what ever you need to do to deal with the situation. I have parked my jeep along side the trailer, across the lot or what ever.

It's not a big problem, at least I hope it isn't. I should say it has not been one from okla to New Mexico and around this area. Good luck.

Is there a travel plaza along your route?

Thanks for the feedback. I was thinking a little bit about both. Truck stops and visitor centers. I've got to calculate my exact length yet, but head figuring tells me a tad over 65'. I think once I know how my rig relates to the 18 wheelers I'll be able to make more informed decisions.

Larry; You should have no trouble on your trip. Most rest areas have truck and RV areas, that your rig will fit into. Depending on the hours you drive, in many rest areas the truck area is full at night, but if you can sneak into the car area, it will be quieter and usually there are not many cars after 9.00p.m. and before 7.00 am.
The length of a 53ft trailer and tractor /w sleeper is approx 68-72 ft.
