DRW Owners - What are you using for valve extensions?

Just put new tires on and now looking for a good valve extension product. That inside rear tire is tuff to get to. I have looked around the internet, but not seeing much without complaints. What do you use and recommend?

After using extenders for a while, I had failures with them much to often. So now I don't use them at all, just do not need something else to fail. If you want them check Camping World, they have a large selection.

You don't need them. Make sure that the inner wheel air valve is off set from the outer. I use a straight air nozzle where the tip is straight, not on an angle. I just go straight to the tire valve.

Similar to Rich, I had extender problems. Symptoms typically were very slow to fill, or more commonly TPMS would fail not showing pressure. Tried 3 different 4" extensions which were recommended as "the best", all had problems.

Finally gave up, and just reach my hand up between the two tires to put the TPMS directly on the wheels stem. Haven't had any problems for two years now.

If I ever have a reason to break the bead of the existing tires or buy new, I'll have longer valve stems put on.

Unlike other responses, I have never had any trouble with my tire valve extensions. 'Sorry, I don't have any pics to post, but I got my extensions from Camping World & they make checking tires much easier. Ford has made it nearly impossible to check the inside duals on their trucks so I use a 4" or 6" (I can't remember) braided steel hose attached to the inside duals. The end of this braided steel wrapped extension hose is zip tied to the valve extension on the outside dual. There is no issue with wheel balance & it is much easier to check tire pressures.

I'm in the don't use them either camp.
Only after-market HD brass caps on the steel valve stems. Sometimes a little rough on the meat-hooks but worth the piece of mind. The GM oval holes are a tad better than some other wheels.
I do have a nice extended chuck w/quick connect that fits on my hot dog compressor. The chuck has a built in valve and pressure gauge.
I typically de-rate my DRW pressure when I'm going to run bob-tail for a few weeks too.
Enjoy the new rubber!

None for reasons stated above about potential problems with leaks.

I have a dual-foot air chuck for my compressor and I have a dual-foot gauge. No problems reaching the inner valve stem. Chevy even uses 5-spoke wheels which means the inside and outside valve stems can't be offset 180º so both are in the same opening.

I went to a small tire shop that has road service for semis--he installed a 6" brass valve stem on my inner duals which comes right to the hole in the outer dual. I have a 450 and the holes are only the size of a silver dollar but still I can reach the inner stem easily with a guage/fill line and also have my flo-thru sensors. The larger holes on a 350 ought to be easier still for this setup. As to the GM 5-spokes, the valve stems don't have to be 180 offset, just move the outer wheel so the inner one is in an opening.

Just had Borg dually valve stems installed. I was having problems with the flexible extenders leaking and tst 510 sensors not reporting.

That's what I thought, but 8 bolts won't work out with 5 openings. It's better to have the inner valve stem at the highest point of the opening even if it is in the same opening as the outer stem rather than have the inner valve stem near the narrow outer end of an opening.
