We have a 2013 24' Cougar xLite TT, with the EAZ Lift Towing System (WD), pulled by 2011 RAM 1500 Hemi 5.7, with crew cab, reg. bed. When we purchased the TT, the hitch system was installed by dealer, and we noticed there were no bolts in the bottom 2 holes of the spring bar brackets. Only bolt that was holding it to tow framework, was ONE Set screw (large), which is on pretty tight. We asked the Service tech about the "empty" 2 holes, and they said we didn't need them, but those holes were put there for a different type of "set up".
Yesterday, when we were unhitching our TT, the right bracket "slipped" after we unhooked the chain. Is this normal and should we have bolts put in the holes on each bracket? We've had one "mechanic" say, yes we need to, but am trying to find what the general consensus is on this particular item. We also plan to contact the EAZ Lift company (CAMCO) and ask this question as well. Just want some feedback on this ---- as this is our 2nd TT and didn't have any type of issues with it and it's hitch system ever......
Help.
THANKS!!!
