I've got a 06, F250 with 4 "Aux" switches. The owner's manual is not real clear about using these switches.

I get that they are used for powering additional DC devices instead of using the Lighter style power outlet. I also understand where to find the fuses and + wires associated with these switches. But must a switch be flipped to activate the device connected to it? Are the switches essentially on/off switches? I'm thinking they're for a CB, GPS, TV, or some such other device. Can someone give me a real world example of how one might use these switches?

Thanks,
Ralph

I would think they might be handy for other accessories, like maybe heated wiper blades or that kind of thing...
