Our 13 F250 came with all five holes and plastic plugs in them. I ordered the fifth wheel/gooseneck prep package. The only way it was listed. Also came with a RV plug in the bed. I also ordered the spray in bed liner, and the bed extender. The bed extender was not available with the fiver prep so I ordered one from Ford parts along with the Reese hitch and put them in myself. We pull our goose necks with the fifth wheel hitch so I will probably never use that gooseneck hole. I put this same under bed Reese in a F350 back in 08, before the factory would put them in. It did not have the goose neck hole, but they must come that way now.

KSCRUDE - great pics. I was told by the dealer that I could not have the bed extender with the 5th wheel hitch package. How is that working out for you? Seems you can not use you in bed electrical hook-up. If so, is that a big deal? Must not be.

I wanted the bed extender to help carry kayaks when the 5th wheel hitch is not on the truck.

The dealers are all wet as usual. Just unlatch the BE and pull it out about 3 or 4 inches and run your plug through the slot and plug in. Here is a pic. I plugged in a adapter just so you can see the plug and wire coming through.

Thanks a bunch!!!

When I tow, after I hitch up I usually put the bed extender in the forward position. Then stuff can ride in back and not get to the fifth wheel area. And plugging in then is a snap. Ford only allows you to order the fiver prep or the bed extender. So I got the fiver prep and put the bed extender in myself as it is only about a easy 15 minute job.

Another pic of the BE locked in the forward position, and you can see where your trailer wire will come through. You can tow with you BE over to the side or in the locked forward position. Your choose, but to unhook your trailer you must put the BE to the side, or get the pin high enough to go over it. Maybe I should design a BE Thats cut out in the middle like a fiver tailgate, as to clear the fiver pin, only needs to be about 6 inches deep and a foot wide. Then I could retire.

This makes no sense. Ford only sells the package one way. 5th wheel and gooseneck prep. If you buy the Elite setup after the fact they make it both ways, but from Ford, it only comes with both. Either Ford forgot to drill the center hole or the dealer forgot to order the prep and installed the Elite 5th only kit.

If I remember correctly--when Ford first introduced the hitch setup in the '11s, it was listed as separate options: fifth wheel prep and gooseneck prep, one or the other or both. Somewhere, they finally realized people might need both and it became the combination. Now, you get both the fifth wheel holes and the gooseneck hole.
I definitely remember seeing both options in the '11s and maybe '12s.

Hmmm, mine is a 12 and it was only offered one way then. And K-Star's is a 12. Unless it was a job difference (IE: job 1 vs. job 2) I'm still not getting it.

I use the Reese/Ford OEM hitch setup with my 2011 F350. The hitch has been great and I've used the heck out of it. My truck did not come equipped with the under bed mount so I had to buy the whole thing. I purchased the 25k version from the dealer at a little below $1,200. They gave it to me at close to dealer cost because it was negotiated at the time of the truck purchase.
