Fifth Wheel Hitch ???
Need help-advise on fifth wheel hitch.
Looking at Sliding Fifth Wheel-have 6-1/2Foot Bed.
Looking at Reese Hitches first time with truck and fifth wheel.
They tell me I need a slider with the short bed looking at Reese Slider
10 inch fore/aft travel double jaw double pivot 15-18 inch tall and
12 inch fore/aft travel double jaw double pivot 15-18 inch tall.
Should I be looking at something else?

Much depends on the 5er front profile and what truck you have.. Many short bed GM owners report they have a slider but never use it as they can make a 90 degree move without any issues.
I use a 16k Reese manual slider with my short bed Dodge. I seldom use it but its there if I need it.

JIMNLIN Is right,I have the manual slide on my Chevy and have never used it yet.So I can't see spending over 1k for a new slide.Not that the SuperGlide isn't a good product,but that money I will use else where.Like JIMNLIN said,"Better to have it and not need it,than to need it and not have it."

You just can't beat a SuperGlide and it doesn't have to be expensive. Search CraigsList. I found a never-used 16k with SuperRail mount for $850 and installed it myself.

The Reese sliding hitch will work quite nicely.

I have a Reese with a tube slider. It is manual and there if I need it in the future for tight maneuvers. My TV is a 6 1/2' short bed.

The OP is looking for a sliding 5th wheel hitch. The Blue Ox diamond hitch is a conventional gooseneck hitch as far as I can tell. How can this meet his requirements??

Love our SuperGlide we have on our 6.5 foot bed F250.....The new one for universal rails can be had for about $900. With rail kit and installation the 15K superglide ran me less than $1500....Being able to take tight turns without worrying about the sliding mechanism is priceless....
