First Tow With Air Lift 1000

Like to start off saying i do not own Air Lift stock or have any financial interest in them, just love their product and company service.

Just returned from or first tow with our 2013 Ram 5.7 towing a Grey Wolf 26RL. Not only did the Bags eliminate the little bit of squat we had but really firmed up the rear of the truck, making it feel more solid and much less input from the trailer. The best $90 ( Amazon ) i have ever spent !
Now we have decided on the Husky TS as our new hitch, can't wait to see the the results of both together !!!

I would say from your pics that you still have some work to do. Looks like the truck is sagging in the rear and the front is too high. More adjustment on the WDH is in order.
The front of the truck needs to be returned to close to it's original height. Have you done any measuring?

It seems that weight distributing hitchs are misunderstood.

As the name implies, even if you grossly overload a tow vehicle with a heavy trailer, it should distribut the weight and sink evenly to the ground, with the right hitch settings.

I no longer tow, but remember it being about an inch more sinking in the back the the front.

My Father sold hitchs, and a tape measure and instructions was all we needed to set them up.

If it couldn't even out, stronger bars were needed. If it rode stiff, the bars were too strong.

Think you might be looking at the before pic. front end rose only a 1/4 inch front no hookup ! Had the bags at 20# and truck is just about level. True i think i need more WDH, working on that.

Have the Air LIft 5000 on my Ram 2500. Towing the 13k 5'er, pin weight 3500#, require about 25# pressure to level the truck. No more getting flashed when driving after dark and the lights are where they are needed. As for ride, seemed to soften the bumps on some of out wonderful hi ways. Think, over all, will also minimize shock and spring sag and wear over the long haul. Very happy with them and install is about 4 hours at most with minimum tools required.

3500 pin weight on a 13000 lb trl ? You must have the whole trl sittingin the basement. Most you should be looking at is the low 2s . Just saying.
