Finally, got the new B&W RVK 3600 in the rig, and also my new Curt 2"receiver hitch for the front, that will receive the bicycle rack.

I've also got 540 miles on the truck now, so the rear differential is broke in well enough to tow. This high output Cummins definitely sounds different than my 2014 2500 Cummins . I love driving this dually. We leave tomorrow for Port Aransas,TX, just up the coast about 200 miles.

Just got through towing 200 miles with the new Ram. It's a beast. The extra hp/torque is very nice. The engine has a totally different sound (way more powerful sounding) and the Aisin Trans Rocks!

Beautiful. The colors look great together. I'm sure that HO cummins is a beast.

Interesting comment about the sound! If my 15 Dually with Aisin ever gets here I will see if it sounds different than my 11 HO 350HP/800TQ.

Yes the combo looks great together!

Have you checked your mileage? If so what speed are you towing at.

The sound is pretty throaty when in 5th or 6th OD, and you.give it more fuel under heavy load at around 2,000 rpm's.

The engine only has 700 miles on it so mpg right now I don't beleive means much, but the Evic said 8.5 towing at 58 mph, against a headwind up a long slight grade. 14-19 today on the hwy at 60mph. I don't drive fast anymore.

I've got 700 miles towing with the new truck, and it's a very large improvement over my trusty 2500.

I liked the fact that I went bumper to bumper traffic through Houston TX rush hour and the Trans only got up to 170 degrees. That would have been 220 degree on the 2500 with the 3.42 gears. It was 80.deg outside.

Pulling into the freeway is a non event now. Gets up to speed fast. Very comfortable truck.

Fuel milage towing 17.5 K is 8.5 mpg. Not great. My 2500 got 11 mpg towing the same 5th wheel. I didn't buy it for the mpg though. I bought it for my own piece of mind with safety the foremost concern. Now I can enjoy the truck and trip without worrying about being overloaded. I'm much happier now. And did I mention it's a fantastic pickup?

Hey Bud... great report. I have never had the luxury of breaking in a new diesel but my CRV gasser has seen mileage improvement from new through 5K miles (had 5 miles on it when we got it.

And not being familiar - does your Allison have an Economy mode?

Good to hear your happy and well. Give a call sometime. Be safe and journey onward Coastie.

Jammer

What is your combined weight?

Just driving my 15 around I can tell it will accelerate from a stop to freeway speed with ease when loaded! Really like the "Aisin" trans so far.

Haven't been to a scale yet, so I have no idea . What ever the truck weighs with all the gear I have 2 adults and 2 dogs+ the trailer.
I've got about 1200 miles towing with it now, and my overall mpg is 9.0. Today's drive was all on I-10 in Louisiana, so it won't get any better than that.
The 4.10's work well, but today I pulled into a KOA, and it was a super tight spot and the left side tires of the 5er sunk down 10 inches in the mud and the truck didn't even hesitate. Awesome power. Perfect 1 time shot in the space. Patting myself on the back. Ha ha.
