If you guys haven't seen this article, I thought it was good reading.
They compare gas 3/4 ton 4x4 crews and diesel dually 4x4 crews. It gives performance results empty, towing, and pulling a grade.

 I think it was a well done article.... I believe from what I read you really cant go wrong with any of the HD trucks out there... all of them performed within a second or 2 of each other in the performance department. So I think when it gets down to the nitty gritty of buying a new rig.... it 'll be "what fits your butt the best" Rig that wins.

I was also surprised at how close all the diesel trucks were to one another. The other thing I learned is that the V-10 is pretty impressive.
With both unloaded it is pretty much side by side with the powerstroke in the quarter mile. The powerstroke outruns it when both have trailers, though.
I do wish they would have included a fuel milage comparion. In a past version of the comparison they towed an open road route, but now they do it on a closed course that probably doesn't allow enough distance to get meaningful fuel consumption data...
