I usually do not offer to help unless they are either very old or very young.

As a kid I would watch my dad quietly laugh at those who could not back their RV. He would make comments if you cant drive it you should not own it. Never so they could hear but so us kids could.

I got my first RV at 23 years old, a 24 foot TT. I took it to a big lot with cones. I learned to back it. I practiced lots. I was going to meet my parents at a campground and they would be there a day before me. My site was next to their's.

I pulled in and backed it in first try. My dad was surprized, he was expecting a good laugh.

I rarely even let my wife help give me directions. It is only to warn me on the blind side if I let her help. The kids never were allowed to help.

My wife can back the RV. My daughters can back a 22 foot boat or jetskis. I did teach them how. In fact my girls could not take a driving test until they could back a trailer.

I will never offer to park some one elses unit. I will offer directions or helpful hints.

I also believe you sould have to pass a test to pull a trailer of any type or Drive a Motorhome over 24 foot long.
