I have a Reese R20 5th wheel hitch. It is centered over my rear axle. When I was weighed by SmartWeigh, the results showed that when my unit was hitched, the each of the front wheels of the truck were unloaded about 150 pounds. Accordin to Reese, I can turn the pivot beam around which moves the hitch point 1" forward. Any mathmaticians around that can tell me if this would make much of a difference?

Would need a lot more information to calculate, easiest just to flip the pivot beam and re weigh the rig. If your trailer is unloading front by 150 lbs per wheel, that's a lot! If flipping the pivot beam doesn't do it, you might have to move the whole 5th wheel hitch forward. How much weight on the rear?

I have 4,500# pin weight. Of that less than 200# sit on the front tires. The B&W hitch is full forward.

I would recommend moving forward. Industry standard is 2'' ahead of center of rear axle.

I've bee talking to Reese and taking measurements on my truck. Unfortunately, these measurements are exactly what they should be.

From my experience the math is correct and the scales is off.
At 1% error over 80000 lbs would be 800 lbs.
