Hitch questions

We are looking at purchasing a Flagstaff 25' DKS mirco lite. We will be towing this unit with a Chevy 1/2 ton with a 5.3 L engine. My main concern is getting a good weight distribution/anti sway hitch. I am interested in the newer Blue Ox hitch and wonder if anyone has a comment of the effectiveness of this hitch to control sway. My brother has a Hensley hitch and swears by it. They are high priced and may be over kill for this unit. I would appreciate anyones suggestion for what they consider to be the best anti sway hitch for trailering. Thanks, John

I'm in about in the same boat as you, considering upgrading from my current WDH with friction sway bars, to a better one. Yes, i have a heard how great the Hensley are, but $$$$$$$$$. I'm considering the Blue OX sway Pro or the Equalizer 4 Point w/sway control. Both have good reviews and allow backing without disconnecting. So i guess we will be awaiting input together

I saw your post right after I posted mine. Hopefully we will learn from some other folks about their recommendations of a good anti sway hitch.

The best anti-sway hitch is the ProPride, designed by Jim Hensley to replace his original Hensley Arrow. Second best is the original Hensley Arrow, also designed by Jim Hensley. Those two cost over $2,000 each, and well worth it.

Third best is any of 4 different WD hitches that retail for around $1,000 and can be found at eTrailer.com or Amazon.com for around $600 complete with adjustable shank. These 4 are:
♦ Reese Strait-Line
♦ Husky Centerline
♦ Blue Ox Sway Pro
♦ Equal-I-Zer

Don't consider any WD hitch that you find online for less than $500. Pick one of the above, with the right tongue weight capacity.
Grumpy ole man with over 50 years towing experience. Now my heaviest trailer is a 7,000-pound enclosed cargo trailer, RV is a 5,600 pound Skyline Nomad Joey 196S, and my tow vehicle is a 2012 F-150 EcoBoost SuperCrew.

ProPride because it is an improvement over the Hensley is the way to go if cost is no object, otherwise go with the Equal-I-Zer !
You won't be sorry because it is the one that gets the most recommendations.
I have been using one for years and couldn't be happier. There must be a reason why so many are closely copying them.
