I got to ride in a 2011 F-150 5.0 Lariat

It is still a nice truck. I have a soft spot in my heart for this truck as I owned one for 1 year. I really liked my truck and at the time I was looking for a Diesel Pusher. But as it turned out I bought a 5th wheel and traded my 2011 F-150 Lariat on a 2012 F-450 KR to pull a big(ish) 5th wheel.

Anyway, this 2011 F-150 5.0 liter Lariat was still a very nice truck. It was still quiet and still smooth running with a very nice interior.

Had a 2001 F150 7700#...really liked that truck also.

But come 2006 we decided to go FT and FORD had the 6.0---no thanks
HAD to go with a Cummins even though it came wrapped in a DODGE

Had a 1976 F250 I wish I had never sold
Along with some late 60's cars and several Motorcycles

Ah.........memories

We have a 2013 Lariat CCSB 5.0 my wife drives as her daily driver. Kodiak Brown Metallic. Looks black until light hits it.

We tow with a 2011 F-250 Lariat CCLB FX4 6.2L. Awesome truck to bumper tow with.

I got to drive the ole 2011 F-150 5.0 litre engine today. Nice smooth power delivery.

I also got to drive a 1999 Dodge 1500. Wow, that was a much more truck(ish) truck. But it was still trucking. I could not help but think 1999 to 2019 how far that truck has come. From a truck ride to a car like ride. From a sparse interior to a luxury interior.

The 2011 Ford F-150 did not come quite as far to 2018. Ford did a great job on the 2011 5.0 litre truck. Hard to improve an already great truck.

Yikes, the cargo capacity of the 2011 F-150 Lariat is only 1,277 lbs. So Ford did improve the F-150 to carry approx. 25% more. I remember seeing cargo capacity of 1500 - 1800 on the F-150's 6 months ago.

The 2019 Chevy it is easy to see 1,800 to 2,100 cargo capacity.

I used my 2011 F-150 Lariat to tow a 5,500 lb trailer only 1 year before I traded that trailer in on a 5th wheel and the F-150 in on a dually truck to tow the 5th wheel. But I bet my F-150 only had 1,250 lbs cargo capacity. I was not smart enough even to look. Back in 2011 I thought all 1/2 ton trucks were equal. Not knowing that was not true. That not all F-150's are ever equal. I never paid attention to cargo capacity. Now that is the 1st thing I look at.

Oh, I checked the 1990 Dodge 1500. It had a GVWR of 7,200lbs. The 2011 Ford F-150 also had a GVWR of 7,200lbs. That surprised me
