I can't speak to towing one, but I owned a brand new 1998 Cherokee Sport 4.0 liter 4x4 and loved it. I put 120K miles on it without a single problem before selling it to my DIL and she put several thousand more miles on it without any problems.
What are you pulling it with? What type of motorhome do you have? I have towed a jeep Cherokee sport across the country behind a 40' diesel pusher several times. It tows quite well but the jeep is heavier and more susceptible to side winds than some other units because it is boxy.specially If you are planning to tow it in the mountains I would recommend auxiliary brakes as it will push you on steep grades. Hope that helps.

We've towed a 2000 Cherokee Limited for 3 years and it's easy to tow. Make sure the one you are looking at is 4X4. The two wheel drive models with automatic trans can NOT be towed 4 down.
Easy to tow, don't really notice it back there. As far as liking it, my 2000 is solid and clean. But it is a Jeep, no frills or smooth quiet ride, it's a Jeep.
