Just curious? Who tows a 5er with 3/4 ton.
Just checking the ratio on 3/4 ton TV's. Please include your 5er and a few specs would be good as well..
Mine, well next week when I take delivery.
2015 GMC HD2500 Denali Duramax
Forest River 3875FB, will know all the weights next week..

You may want to upgrade to the one ton.
It only costs a little more and will work a lot better for you.
Why are you buying this if you don't know the weights yet??

I towed a Sprinter 250RK 5er that grossed about 8,000 pounds (GVWR 7900) for over 11 years and about 100,000 miles with an F-250 CrewCab diesel. I was usually overloaded by a coupla hundred pounds over the GVWR of the F-250.
Your 38 footer is going to have a lot more hitch weight than my 25 footer, so I suspect you'll be a lot more overloaded than I was. 2016 Forest River Cardinal 3875FB has GVWR of 16,490, or over twice what my 5er weighed.

In a nutshell, you have matched way too much trailer to that dinky little 2500. Even a 3500 SRW would be overloaded with that wet and loaded RV trailer. You need a dually to safely tow that trailer.
So if it's not too late, then either downsize the trailer or hook it up to a tow vehicle with a lot more payload capacity for hitch weight.

We towed a 2004 Cougar 285EFS with a 2003 Chevy 2500HD CC 4x4 6L V8.
Cougar:
30'3"
GVWR 9860
UVW 8300
Pin 1360
It's been a while since we had this set up, but I want to say, weighed loaded for travel the 5-r came in close to 9200 lbs.

PW will likely be ~3000#
Hitch +200#
Gear +200#
Driver/Passenger(s) +400#
You will very probably be severely overloaded.

Doing 72in a 70 zone yesterday in the toad, eastbound on I90 west of Spokane, a F150 pulling a super light 5er passed me like I was sitting still. It had paper plates, might be the delivery guy, it could have been empty.

Heading to VA last weekend we saw a pack of 4or5 f-150's pulling light weigh 5ers one even had an Idaho tote with a golf cart on the back. I guess it works with the new super half tons but I would never do it.

I believe Max payload for a 2015 Denali 2500 is 3,560lbs if it has every trick in their book to maximize capacity.
These weights are limited in reality by 6,300lbs weight rating on the 2 rear tires... it's going to end badly.

I've never seen a delivery guy with a half ton. But, times are changing. Maybe he had Hope and Change or something

Salesman in Texas told me "while legally I can't say anything, a 3/4 ton will be fine on a DRV."
He failed the test.
