Got to wonder how the greedy Government will get the missing gasoline tax.

I heard they want to tax by the miles you drive. That is probably fair but I don't like that idea.

But a Tesla driver is not chipping in to drive on the roads. Ugh

Some states and provinces collect a fee at registration. Think I prefer the mileage approach. Our car insurance is already calculated that way. They check our odometer once a year when we reinsure. Kinda cool actually. Insurance went down a bit this year.

Teslas charging rates have been tested and shown to be exaggerated several times. Do not trust teslas press propaganda.

True. But although we don’t own a Tesla the Tesla board has lots of interesting info on a variety of EV’s including the ones we own. Many Tesla owners participate and 15 to 25 minutes seems to be a common length of a charging stop at a Supercharger. Longer at the the Chademo sites as the adapter has a 50 KW thruput rate.

150 miles on a Harley or any bike is a lot. Normal trip. 30 or 40 to tavern. Bike is charging. Three hours. Trip home. Not all rides are the same but you get the idea. I think most people don’t drive over 40 miles a day. Any electric vehicle would work.

I see some Harley dealers are installing fast chargers. I would imagine a fast charge on a battery that would fit on a motorcycle would be 10 to 15 minutes tops.

Why don't you like being taxed by the mile? That's close to how the gasoline tax works now. What would be more fair? I can think of many ways making that work. Don't worry the EVs will be getting taxed plenty soon. Come to think about it, state gasoline tax did not start until 1919 in Oregon and spread to all 48 states within a decade. You know government is slow so give them a break to catch with the world.
