Keyless entry

Hope someone can help. Bought a new to us 2012 Sure Duty last month. The truck has keyless entry, but I don't know the code. I understand that the factory reset code is hidden somewhere in the interior. A Ford dealer said he could help me for $100.00. I just bring myself to spend that kind of money for something that will take them a couple minutes. I have been looking for the code when time allows. Does anyone have a thought as to where it might be?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Thedieselstop

Smokywren probably has the unlock code memorized but if you don't get an answer here try Diesel Forum - TheDieselStop.com.

Good luck

Look in Glove Box

Take a look in the glove box. There use to be a small sticker attached to the side of the glove box.

There should be a small card in a pocket of the owners manual pouch that has the code on it.
If you don't have the card then my 2013 owners manual says:

Displaying the Factory Set Code
Note: You will need to have two programmed passive anti-theft keys for
this procedure.
To display the factory set code in the information display:
1. Insert a key into the ignition and turn the ignition on for a few seconds.
2. Turn the ignition off and remove the key.
3. Insert the second key into the ignition and turn the ignition on.
The factory set code will display for a few seconds.
Note: The code may not display until after any other warning messages
first display.

I set a personlized entry code that would be easy for me to remember. I am told that if the computer is reset it would go back to the factory default. I have had flash upgrades that never changed the code. But I do have a card in my owners packet with the factory code. Interesting to see the procedure to display the factory message on the message center. Thanks for that (it is probably in the owners manual, but that is only read as a last resort right)

You can set up to five personalized codes in the keyless entry. If you have the memory option you can assign one code to memory 1 and another to memory 2. The key remote can also be set to the memory 1 & 2. This way whenever I hit the remote or press my code all the memory settings set up for me. When my wife uses the truck her code allows her to get into the drivers seat with all her memory settings adjusted for her. I would never have another truck without the memory option. I like it very much!
